My Story
I got my first computer at 13 and have been building things ever since, most recently the Levi's flagship app during my time at Branding Brand. I'm also a software engineer living with Kleine-Levin Syndrome, which has taught me to make every 'awake' day count. That perspective carries into everything I do. Whether I'm working on my next side project, playing tech support for family and friends, or teaching someone about KLS, I bring resilience, creativity, and a genuine drive to build technology that matters.

My Professional Journey
With over 10 years in technology, my journey spans from internships to founding my own company to helping build Levi's flagship app with the team at Branding Brand. Every project has pushed me to pick up new tools and approaches, and I bring that range to whatever I'm building next.
Founder & CEO
EK Solutions
As Founder & CEO of EK Solutions, I work closely with both small & large businesses as a consultant. My past jobs have ranged from being an independent developer making local businesses' websites, to being subcontracted as part of a larger team working on mobile applications or even teaching programming basics to fortune 500 companies. I have experience with a wide range of technologies, and I enjoy learning new ones if they are the right fit for a project.
Key Achievements:
- Design and ship production web and mobile products end to end for 15+ clients (5 on ongoing retainers), owning architecture, delivery, and long-term maintenance
- Built fast, statically-rendered client sites (ykinnovations.com, uptpgh.com) on Next.js, TypeScript, and Payload CMS with sub-second load times, fully maintainable by non-technical owners
- Built a live location-tracking feature for a mobile coffee business, letting non-technical owners broadcast their real-time spot across the city
- Designed and delivered programming boot camps and workshops to 35+ people, including corporate sessions at Bloomberg and a free career-transition workshop
Software Engineer
Branding Brand
Consulted through Branding Brand on the Levi Strauss mobile team, helping build and maintain the flagship shopping app for one of the world's biggest denim brands, focused on user engagement and experience.
Key Achievements:
- Tech lead on the Levi's engagement team, implementing and maintaining features on the flagship React Native shopping app
- Owned features end to end, from design collaboration through implementation, to raise user engagement and retention
- Researched and integrated new technologies across React Native and mobile commerce to improve the app experience
Full-Stack Programming Intern
Problem Solutions
Learned to use new technologies in the field such as React.js and Xamarin to build web apps and mobile apps for varying purposes, working across React front ends and ASP.NET back ends following MVC principles. Used source control like GitHub in a professional environment to maintain existing projects and start new ones.
Key Achievements:
- Built features across a large React front end and ASP.NET (C#) back end on a production web application
- Shipped cross-platform mobile apps with Xamarin in a professional Git workflow
Software Developer Intern
DVSport Software
Worked at a sports technology company specializing in video analysis software for professional and collegiate sports. Collaborated with senior developers on innovative solutions for sports teams including NFL and NCAA organizations.
Key Achievements:
- Co-developed a C# tool using the BitTorrent Sync API to move large game-film video between NFL and NCAA teams

Raising Awareness for Kleine-Levin Syndrome
Living with KLS
Kleine-Levin Syndrome (KLS) is a rare neurological disorder affecting 1-5 people per million, characterized by recurring episodes of excessive sleep and cognitive changes. As someone living with KLS, I'm sharing my story to help bring awareness to this misunderstood condition.
My Story
My KLS journey began unexpectedly, forcing me into episodes of deep sleep lasting days or weeks. During these times, I experienced cognitive impairment and disconnection from reality. Living with KLS has taught me resilience and the importance of making every 'awake' day count. This experience has shaped who I am and strengthened my determination to live life to the fullest.
What is KLS?
KLS primarily affects adolescents and young adults, causing recurring episodes of excessive sleep (hypersomnia), cognitive disturbances, and behavioral changes. Between episodes, individuals typically return to normal health and function.
